"Surge from Ian had washed out a section of yard behind our cap. They injected polyurethane through ports in the cap, brought the grade back up, and the lawn is solid again. Documented the loss for our adjuster too."Helen K.Yacht Club · Polyurethane void fill

Yacht Club seawall context.
The Yacht Club neighborhood sits at the southern edge of SE Cape Coral, anchored by the Yacht Club Community Park, the historic Yacht Club Pier, and the Yacht Club Beach. It is the city's oldest waterfront neighborhood, laid out by the Gulf American Land Corporation in the original 1957 development. Most of the home stock dates from 1957 through 1965, with corresponding original seawalls now nearly 60 to 65 years old.
Concrete seawall design life under saltwater exposure runs 40 to 60 years in optimum conditions, so the original Yacht Club stock is at or past the end of its useful service life. We see the highest concentration of full seawall replacement projects in this neighborhood, along with extensive cap restoration on walls that are still structurally salvageable. Hurricane Ian accelerated the replacement timeline for many Yacht Club homeowners, particularly on the homes directly facing the Caloosahatchee and the canal mouths that took the brunt of the 10 to 15 ft surge.
Code, permits, and what makes Yacht Club different.
Yacht Club seawall permits go through the City of Cape Coral. Older walls grandfathered to original 1960s construction codes are not exempt from current Land Development Regulations when significant repair, replacement, or elevation work is performed. We design every Yacht Club project to current code, with cap elevation referenced to NAVD 88, tieback and panel sizing per the Florida Building Code, and reinforcement appropriate for the local soil profile. The Yacht Club Community Park area is subject to additional review because of the public access and shoreline classification.
Common Yacht Club seawall failure modes.
- End-of-life walls where repair is no longer the right call and full replacement is required.
- Severe concrete spalling on 1960s caps with under-an-inch clear cover over corroded rebar.
- Tieback failure on uncoated original steel.
- Hurricane Ian replacement candidates where surge finished a wall that was already at the end.
- Voids and sinkholes from decades of slow flushing.
Every one of these is repairable in most cases. Replacement is the right call only when the structure has lost its underlying integrity. Our standard practice is to quote repair first when the wall supports it.
Why Choose Us
Three reasons Yacht Club waterfront owners hire us.
Local Lee County Knowledge
We work Yacht Club regularly and know the local soil profile, tidal cycle, and permit-office expectations. We design every repair to local conditions, not generic Florida specs. Galvanized hardware to ASTM B695, corrosion-inhibited mix designs, and tieback depths sized to local soil borings.
ASTM B695 saltwater hardware standardWaterside Work, No Landscape Damage
Our crews mobilize from a shallow-draft barge through the canal network whenever conditions allow. That means no excavator on your lawn, no torn-up pool cage, and no surprise landscape restoration. Polyurethane injection in particular needs only dime-sized ports through the cap.
85%+ jobs need zero landscape workPermits, Ian Documentation, Code Compliance
Every contract includes fully managed permitting through the City of Cape Coral or Lee County DCD, FDEP, and USACE when applicable. For Hurricane Ian rebuilds we prepare scope-of-loss documentation and coordinate with your adjuster.
Permits and Ian docs handled end-to-endWhat Yacht Club waterfront owners say.
"Two tiebacks had clearly failed and the cap was rotating toward the canal. They installed new helical anchors through the cap with all the torque logging the engineer wanted. Clean job, no excavation."Anthony D.Yacht Club · Helical anchor pull-back
"Routine inspection ahead of hurricane season. Diver went underwater, found two voids forming behind the wall that we did not know about. They quoted polyurethane injection at a fair price and the work was done in a day."Eric N.Yacht Club · Pre-season inspection
